Beyonce Announces New Fashion Line
Beyonce has announced a joint fashion-licensing and brand-management deal with Arthur and Jason Rabin and their company, Wear Me Apparel/Kids Headquarters. The partnership will provide the support for Beyonce’s upcoming fashion label. In turn, Beyonce and her mother, Tina Knowles, will play an active role in the creative direction and inspiration for the collections. Tina is no stranger to the fashion business; she’s a salon owner and costume designer for her daughters Solange and Beyonce, as well as a costume designer for Destiny’s Child.
Beyonce said in a statement, quote, “My mother and I share a love of fashion and style, and with this brand we’re going to be able to share our vision of what is truly beautiful. Our line will consist of fashions that I enjoy wearing and I want them to be appealing to my fans as well.”
Wear me Apparel/Kids Headquarters is one of the largest privately-held designers and marketers of apparel in the U.S., with sales exceeding $700 million.
The company creates merchandise for Kenneth Cole, Timberland, Rocawear, Nickelodeon and The Walt Disney Company, among others
