Illness Forces Loretta Lynn To Cancel More Dates

An ongoing bout with double pneumonia has forced Loretta Lynn to postpone a series of concert dates next month. The legendary singer is unable perform a scheduled July 3 concert at her Hurricane Mills, Tennessee ranch. Instead, her twin daughters Peggy and Patsy, known as The Lynns, will step in backed by their mother’s band, The Coal Miners.

Lynn’s shows on July 9 and 10 at Falls View Casino in Niagara Falls, New York have also been postponed. Rescheduled dates for those concerts will be announced soon.

ATLANTA – Now comes a real thrill for the pride of Snellville. “American Idol” finalist Diana DeGarmo’s first single, “Dreams,” will be released Tuesday by RCA Records, and the 17-year-old singer says she’s excited to hear it played on the radio.

“I know I’m probably going to have a heart attack,” DeGarmo told The Associated Press Sunday in a telephone interview from Los Angeles, where she’s been rehearsing for the “American Idol” summer concert tour.
