
On Sunday, R&B/Neo-soul singer, Erykah Badu, 37, sent notices throughout the birth of her baby girl via twitter along with her partner/boyfriend Jay Electronica who is a rapper and producer.
Erykah alerted everyone stating, “Morning, I’m in labor” while awaiting the arrival of her midwife at her New York home.
As Erykah Badu was in labor, Jay Electronica sent messages through twitter stating, “Everybody stand back. No hospitals, No doctors. No medicine. We’re waiting for the midwife to show.”
After the birth Erykah Badu twitted, “I can’t believe it’s over,” she wrote. “Home birth, no painkillers, about five hours, she was a little past due date, but I didn’t mind waiting. Breath.”
Erykah Badu delivered her baby girl Mars Merkaba whose name was announced on Tuesday.
Her two children Seven Sirius (son with Outkast’s Andre 3000) who is 11 years-old, Puma Rose Sabti (daughter with rapper the D.O.C.) who is 4 years-old, were both stated to have been there during the birth along with close family members.
