American Music Awards Winners: Taylor Swift, Mary Mary, Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas
The 37th Annual American Music Awards had some spectacular moments and some unsure moments with the most rememberable ones being Jennifer Lopez taking a tumble during her routine, Rihanna wearing a bandage outfit with lasers on the shoulders and Lady Gaga smashing glass while wearing one of her bizarre outfits and later playing the piano as fire burned the top of it.
Although the show provided some good entertainment, Country star Taylor Swift took home five awards which included “Artist of The Year” for the 2009 American Music Awards beating out the legendary King of Pop Michael Jackson who passed away this June. Gospel duo, Mary Mary managed to take home the award for favorite artist in the category “Contemporary Inspirational” which seldom has been spoken about. Rising Nashville, TN Country/Pop group Gloriana won T-Mobile Breakthrough artist for all genres.
