Yolanda Adams Heads Out On Sisters in the Spirit Tour
Award-winning gospel star Yolanda Adams is heading out on the road as part of the Sisters in the Spirit tour with Shirley Caesar and Mary Mary. The extensive tour kicks off on Sept. 20 at the Landmark Theater in Richmond, Va.
Adams earned a Grammy Award for her 1999 Elektra debut, “Mountain High … Valley Low,” which also hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel and Contemporary Christian Charts. Her latest album, the 2001 live record “The Experience,” features two versions of R. Kelly’s song “I Believe I Can Fly,” one live and the other a studio duet with Gerald Levert.
Shirley Caesar released her latest album, “You Can Make It” (Myrrh Black Gospel Division), in August 2000.
Mary Mary–sisters Tina and Erica Atkins–scored a club hit with “Shackles (Praise You)” from its 2000 offering “Thankful” (Myrrh). Destiny’s Child makes a guest appearance on “Thankful.”
