MCA Recording Artist ”KeKe” Wyatt Stabs Husband
Hot upcoming R&B MCA Recording artist Ketara “KeKe” Wyatt, 21, allegedly stabbed Rahmat Morton, 28, up to five times with a steak knife after a domestic dispute at their home in Town ‘N Country subdivision off Smithfield Road about 10:30, police said. Shelbyville police arrested “KeKe” for stabbing her husband on Christmas morning.
Morton, also Wyatt’s manager, was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he is no longer listed as a patient. After Morton was stabbed, he was awake and talking, EMS Director Tommy Sampson said. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Wyatt, who was charged with second-degree assault, was released on bond. If convicted, she could face 10 to 20 years in prison. Morton has not pressed charges against his wife, Assistant Chief Chip Minnis said. However, she will be arraigned on the assault charge. She allegedly stabbed Morton in the chest, back, arm and top of the hand, Detective Scott Chappell said. Part of the knife broke off in Morton’s back, Chappell said.
Police said the couple had been arguing, but officers would not say why.
Their 2-year-old son was home at the time of the incident, police said.
