J. Lo Says Fame Just A Part Of Life
For better or worse, there were two major news stories in November: lingering tensions with Iraq, and Jennifer Lopez’s latest engagement. As different as those two stories could be in terms of global importance, Lopez’s betrothal to Ben Affleck might have edged out the other in terms of the ink spent covering both issues.
For Lopez, fame and the ensuing hype that surrounds her every move isn’t a part of her life she can ignore. Rather, being a famous woman just is what she is, as she tells LAUNCH.
“For me, you know, I realize: This is my job, you know what I mean, and I happen to love my job, but I also know that that’s a part of doing what I do–that’s a byproduct of, you know, the fact that I’m in the public eye, you know what I mean? It doesn’t, it never becomes two separate people. The same way…Like, people say, ‘Your acting and your singing….’ I don’t see it as two separate things. It’s all me, you know what I mean, and I just deal with it, you know, appropriately for how it’s best for my survival, you know what I mean?”
