Tempe Arizona, December 18, 2002 – Black Dog Promotions, a national music promotion firm, announced the it has signed an agreement with 101 Distribution to provide a comprehensive CD distribution and promotion service for independent bands and artists.
The agreement between Black Dog and 101 distribution will give independent artists the same distribution and promotion services that were in the past only available to major label artists. Scott Kelly of Black Dog Promotions commented, “The agreement between Black Dog and 101 Distribution will give independent artists the same distribution and promotion services that were in the past only available
to major label artists. We are very excited about this opportunity.”
National distribution of independent music is a fragmented market that has been historically encumbered by major record label control of the retail marketplace. 101 is a service that satisfies every level of musician in need of a one-stop resource for affordable industry related services and national distribution. Scott Kelly and Black Dog promotions provide
the necessary marketing and promotions function required to give retailers the confidence that consumers are aware of the ability to purchase the titles placed on their shelves” says Damon Evans, Executive Director of the 101 Distribution network.
“Our strength in placing self-promoting artists in commercial retail is perfectly complemented by Black Dog’s ability to generate consumer
awareness and clearly demonstrates that major labels are no longer needed to break new music”.
