Kelly Clarkson To Kick Off Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular

Kelly Clarkson, the winner of the first American Idol competition, kicks off the annual Macy’s Fourth Of July Fireworks Spectacular with a live musical performance.
The country’s largest Fourth Of July fireworks event will be broadcast live from New York City on NBC from 9 to 11 p.m. ET (West Coast tape delayed) on July 4th. Sheryl Crow, John Mellencamp, and Beyonce Knowles will also perform during the telecast hosted by MTV’s Carson Daly and Molly Sims–the star of NBC’s new fall drama Las Vegas.
Other stars scheduled to appears include Reese Witherspoon , Harrison Ford , and Arnold Schwarzenegger . President George W. Bush will also address the nation during the telecast.
The fireworks portion of the show is titled “Lights Of Freedom.” Broadway legend Betty Buckley will narrate this section of the telecast. The song “Lights Of Freedom” will be performed by Michael Cavanagh of Broadway’s Movin’ Out. “Free To Dream,” the theme song for the Nanny, will be performed by Broadway singing star Ann Hampton Callaway .
