Nelly Furtado will release her second studio album, which is still untitled, on November 25. The album will be the follow-up to her 2000 multi-platinum debut effort, Whoa, Nelly! The singer’s record label DreamWorks says it expects to release the new album’s first single by the end of the summer.
Furtado has been working on the new set for the better part of a year. She says the new effort will deal with more adult ideas, compared to Whoa, Nelly! which dealt with teenager issues. “Basically the songwriting is just gonna improve,”Furtado said. “The last record is very much like a coming-of-age record, going from a teenager to an adult and dealing with all that teen angst. And now I’m dealing with a bit more adult emotional issues.”
