Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant Working On Album
Kimberly Locke, third runner-up during the second season of American Idol, is readying her debut album for an April release on Curb Records. The 26-year-old singer from Nashville has already hit the charts with her first single, called “8th World Wonder.” Locke told MTV that she considers the track a “love song,” and described it as, “a pop song, mile to moderate tempo. It’s very catchy.” Locke’s upcoming album will have a diverse sound, ranging from pop to R&B. One of the tracks will be a cover of Bonnie Raitt 1991 hit “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”
As she gets ready for the album’s release, Locke is making sure that she keeps its title a secret. She said, “I don’t wanna tell what the title is yet because it’s kind of a special thing. I want to wait till the very last minute. It’s for my fans.”
Locke appeared on the second installment of American Idol, which also featured Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard.
