The First UK Female Producer, Artist and Record Label Owner Prepares For First R
The first and only UK female to write, produce and soon-to-release from her own Record Label, ShanelsWorldRecords, will be in NY during May 2004 to record final mixes with a top engineer whose credits include Lauren Hill. The promotional release “My Sunshine”, out 14th July will feature Shanel as the artist and executive producer.
London, 15th March, 2004. The UK has never seen a female artist who can manage her own record label, write and perform her own material and then go into a studio to produce it. But Shanel is set to change all that and is preparing for the limelight with her first promotional release single, “My Sunshine” from the independent Record Label, ShanelsWorldRecords, she set up in 2004.
Flying to New York to finish the final mixes with an engineer who has worked with a host of Grammy award winning artists, Shanel will return to London in June ready to prepare for the launch of the single a month later.
While in NY Shanel will also be organising ShanelsWorldDesign, her new design Company. SWD is set to launch later this year with a team of designers, who among them have worked with major blue chip clients, including Elite Model Management and RCA-J Records and have received numerous awards for their design efforts, including The Business Week Design Award.
An inspiration to other young women, Shanel is proving that a female artist can take a more pro-active role in their career. Achieving everything to date entitley on her own merit and without any financial support behind her, Shanel says, “there are opportunities everywhere, you just have to look for them and prepare to work hard. Especially in the music industry, currently there are not enough women in studios making the music that sells, especially the urban genres. But this is an opportunity that should inspire women to get behind the scenes and not just in front of the camera”. An appropriate comment from someone who was an Equalities Officer for a large Organisation in 2001.
During her nine week stay, Shanel will also be the one in front of the camera as she takes every opportunity possible and captures it on film. Recording the real life experiences of a young female artist as a stranger to N.Y, Shanel plans to take the footage to music t.v. stations and have made into a documentary shown on air.
If this wasn’t enough…Shanel’s next adventure is an on-line music library for independent film companies and advertising agencies that she plans to publish at the end of the year on the ShanelsWorld website….Needless to say, something else she has done by herself!
