GarageBand And Trusonic Offer New Home To More Than 1.7 Million Songs And 250,00
GarageBand (http://www.garageband.com) and Trusonic (http://trusonic.com) have joined forces to offer Trusonic artists the opportunity to join GarageBand.com’s music storage and other services. The companies have created a simple method for 250,000 artists to access more than 1.7 million songs and automatically generate new web pages using the Trusonic portion of the content once hosted at www.MP3.com.
Trusonic, formerly a division of MP3.com Inc., uses some of the music giant’s song catalog and musicians database in connection with its background music service. After an exhaustive evaluation, Trusonic selected GarageBand as its exclusive partner to offer Trusonic artists additional exposure.
“GarageBand.com provides the award-winning services and exposure that independent musicians deserve,” said Dan O’Neill, CTO of Trusonic. “We’re delighted to see them offer a new home for this incredible community of musicians and songs.”
With a few clicks at http://garageband.com/go/ts4, the approximately 250,000 Trusonic artists who currently participate in the Trusonic Music Program can automatically transfer their music and other content to GarageBand.com, where new web pages will be instantly generated for them, complete with band descriptions and free mp3 downloads.
The arrangement helps GarageBand expand its membership dramatically while letting Trusonic remain focused on providing great music to its business and retail clients. The companies also intend to offer GarageBand’s top artists the opportunity for in-store music play and royalty payments.
“Thanks to Trusonic’s ingenuity and cooperation, it’s a bright day for independent music around the world,” said GarageBand CEO Ali Partovi. “Now musicians can have the best of both worlds: free exposure to consumers and royalties from business users.”
