Kings Road, The Queen of Funk (Mallia Franklin) & Prince together for the first
Los Angeles-Tuesday March 22, 2005
It will be a night of passion, memories and good ole rock n’ funkadelic gospel flair. With these three Artists, an explosion of talent will cast over the stage at BB King’s Blues Club in Universal City, CA on Friday March 25, 2005.
MALLIA FRANKLIN – At 16, she began recording with Parliament-Funkadelic on many projects, including “Up For The Downstroke, Chocolate City & Mothership Connection.” George Clinton calls Mallia “The P-Funk Talent Scout,” not only did she bring Bootsy into the P-Funk family in 1971, but she also brought in composer & musician, Walter “Junie” Morrison to the P-Funk fold after his stint with the legendary OHIO PLAYERS, as well as, bassist and songwriter, Donnie Sterling. With an international flair and deep southern/gospel roots, Kings Road creates a music style that is like none other. Lead singer Ivan King compiled the band members of Kings Road six months after moving to Los Angeles. The road to success has been swift as the band, Damian Heredia, Todd Shiroma & F. James Caguiat, found themselves successfully traveling and supporting A list Venues. A part of Kings Road has performed across the globe with acts such as Hootie & the Blowfish, Edwin McCain and UB40 capturing the attention of fans around the world (formerly Mr. King and King Bria). They are in high demand in venues across Southern California.
