Sheryl Crow Backs Out Of ‘Live 8’, Justin Timberlake In
Sheryl Crow is no longer on the bill for the July 2nd Live 8 concert in Paris, part of the massive Bob Geldof-organized event to raise awareness of poverty in Africa. According to a post on her official Website (SherylCrow.com), she’s not able to perform due to “substantial logistical and personal challenges.”
Although Crow won’t be able to attend the show, she is asking fans to support the cause. The Website message goes on to say, “Although Sheryl cannot be there personally she is supporting the outstanding cause to awaken the G8 leaders to the fact that they have the power to end extreme poverty by applying a workable plan to double aid, drop the debt and make the trade laws fair.”
Crow will release a new studio album on September 27. The first single to be released from the as-yet-untitled CD is called “Good is Good.”
A tour is currently in the works, as well as a new version of Crow’s Artist’s Choice CD, which will be available at Starbucks this fall.
