4th Annual Acoustic Live Submission Deadline Extended To July 29th!
Submissions extended to July 29th, 2005!
The Fourth Annual Acoustic Live talent series, a songwriting competition / “acoustic” battle of the bands, has extended it’s submission deadline 2 weeks to JULY 29th, 2005. 42 artists will be chosen by a submission panel of industry professionals to take part in the Acoustic Live competition. Industry professional judges will advance artists to the final Acoustic Live showcase, for a chance to win great prizes provided by Acoustic Live sponsors.
Acoustic Live has been building a tradition of connecting emerging artists with industry professionals. Over 100 industry professionals have turned out to judge & attend Acoustic Live events. Acoustic Live artists have been signed to record/merchandising deals (Jared Burton/Viastar), offered publishing deals (Sara Bareilles/Chrysalis), management (Nadine Zahr/TLAMS ENT), worked with producers/engineers (the Sane), entertainment lawyers (Jim Bianco/Kia Kamran), radio promoters (Kat Parsons/Lenny Lasalandra), licensed for private radio (Krister Axel/Private Label Radio) and these are just a few of many opportunities that have been created. Industry professionals have described Acoustic Live as a “go to source for quality music and artists,” (Ken Batchelor, VP, DMI) that “provides a platform for up and coming musicians to be seen early on by the industry’s tastemakers.” (James Blades, McGhee Entertainment)
Seth Schwartz, founder of Acoustic Live, commented that AL sets itself apart, “by finding submission panelists and judges that are industry professionals, working in the business, who are seeking talent, not just industry staples. It’s the best way to make a true connection, and in 2005, we’ll continue to build on that philosophy.” Past judges have included, Tyler Bacon (Position Music), Sara Kapuchinski (Chrysalis), James Mormile (Geffen), Art Ford (June Street Licensing), Matty Spindel (Producer/Engineer), Todd Parker (ThroBack Records), Tom Hoppa (Clear Channel), and many others.
From submissions to showcases, AL is judged solely on one or more of the following: songwriting, originality, performance, and musicianship. Acoustic Live showcases are presented in a strictly acoustic format, putting the emphasis on the songwriting while leveling the playing field between solo artists and bands.
