Marthe Reynolds has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Rhythm and Crossover Promotion, Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced by Greg Thompson, Executive Vice President, Promotion, Island Def Jam Music Group.
In her new role, Ms. Reynolds will be responsible for strategizing with the Urban and Pop promotion staffs and her West Coast counterpart to maximize radio airplay on behalf of IDJ artists. She will work closely with the artists on the IDJ group of labels including Def Jam, Roc-A-Fella, Disturbing Tha Peace, the Russell Simmons Music Group, the Damon Dash Music Group, The Inc, and Island Records to ensure their music a place at the top of the Rhythm charts and beyond. Ms. Reynolds, who is based in New York, will report directly to Mr. Thompson.

Ms. Reynolds has served as Vice President Rhythm Promotion, Island Def Jam Music Group since 2001. She first joined the company in 1993, as Senior Director, Crossover Promotion, Island Independent Labels, and the following year was appointed Senior Director, Rhythm Crossover Promotion, Island Def Jam Records, which post she held for the next seven years. During this time, she received numerous industry awards for Promotion Excellence and as Rhythm Executive of the Year, while Island Def Jam was consistently singled out as Rhythm Label of the Year. Ms. Reynolds began her career in 1986 at Omni Records in Philadelphia. In 1988, she moved to Vendetta/A&M Records where she spent three years as National Director, Crossover Promotion. In 1991, she began at PWL America/Chemistry Records as General Manager. Ms. Reynolds attended the University of Delaware, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History.
