She’s beautiful, got hips for days and has a personality that’s striking. Mandisa, 29, from Antioch, TN made the final 24 on American Idol and also made peace with Simon Cowell.
Mandisa admitted to Simon that he hurt her feelings talking about if the stage was big enough for her during an audtion. When time came around to select the final 24, she jokingly responded before sitting down that maybe they needed a bigger chair before hearing if she made the cut.
Mandisa told the judges she did cry after he made those judgmental comments that many of us have gotten use to. Mandisa told Simon that she forgave him and if God died and forgave her, she could definitely forgive him.
Mandisa and Simon ended in hugs.
Being a large woman in this business has been hell for many women mentally and physically. Will this ever be changed?
Mandisa is only one of hundreds of thousands of beautiful women either turned down or hurt by men and sometime even women who sit behind their desks or glaring at the TV screen.
If Mandisa keeps the spirit that she has and a very positive outlook on life, she can overcome anything. There has been many women who have proved it’s not about being the thin Hollywood, Baywatch or Miami beach girl when it comes to being in the music and entertainment industry, it’s about having soul or X-factor.
A majority of our legendary or striking singers and entertainers are proof to that!
Queen Latifah, Oprah Winfrey, Angie Stone, Kelly Price, Carnie Wilson, Wynonna Judd, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Star Jones, Mo’Nique and Toccara Jones to name a few.
Most media, yes we are the blame for it!
