Record Labels Address Rumor of Solange Being Dropped
After numerous reports circulated that Solange Knowles had been dropped from her record label shortly following Destiny Child’s member Kelly Rowland, who was working as a solo artist, statements were issued from both Music World and Interscope Records last Thursday on behalf of Solange stating that the rumors were false.
Interscope Records – “Contrary to rumors floating through the internet over the last few days, Solange remains a part of the Interscope Geffen A&M family. It’s unfortunate that people have posted false information without checking their sources first.”
Music World – Recent reports that Solange has been dropped from IGA are false. Interscope Records has issued a statement regarding these erroneous reports.
Mathew Knowles – “Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in place with Solange. Her remarkable achievements speak for themselves.”
Music World Entertainment can not comment further on the inaccurate business and personal accusations as reported by the online gossip columns and blogs because of pending legal action. SoL-AngeL and the Hadley St Dreams is an international critically acclaimed album that produced major No 1 hit singles on multiple charts.
The current single T.O.N.Y is co-written by Ceelo of Gnarls Barkley and Solange. Ceelo along with Kid Cudi make guest appearances in the music video. The single has just been launched at radio with over 3.2 million in audience and growing daily. T.O.N.Y is No 3 on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart and sales are up 165% this week at iTunes.
Upon release, the album had a Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 Chart at No 7 and entered at No 3 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Album Chart, which are based on sales.
The album received rave reviews around the world. The first two singles from the album shot to No 1 on separate charts. The music videos were the No 1 most viewed at the national music TV networks. Her recent music successes have also resulted in major endorsement and sponsorship opportunities.
