Mary J Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Jessie J ‘Got Soul’ in VH1 Divas Live Performances

VH1 Divas will be celebrating soul with special live performances from the likes of great singers such as Jill Scott, Jessie J, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Mavis Staples, Erykah Badu, just to name a few, for its “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” edition. VH1 Divas will be honoring the cities of Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, London and Philadelphia for contributing to soul music. “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” will also be paying tribute to soul singer Amy Winehouse, who died on July 23 at the age of 27.

On Sunday, a number of celebrities and singers came dressed and ready to belt out a few notes at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City which included Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius, Jessie J, Estelle, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Mavis Staples, Erykah Badu, Ledisi, amongst others for the occasion.

Some of the songs to be sung for the VH1 Divas set list include: “You Keep Me Hanging On” with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige. Estelle, Erykah Badu, Marsha Ambrosius and Questlove with a medley of “Back To Life.” Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Black Thought has a medley of “You Got Me” and Erykah Badu, Chaka Kahn and Mavis Staples sings “I’ll Take You There.”

The annual show will be airing on Monday, December 19 at 8PM CST on VH1.
