Reportedly, Katy Perry asked husband Russell Brand to be the one to file for the divorce from the marriage.

Why did Katy possibly ask Russell to do such a thing, well sources are saying Katy asked Russell to file the divorce papers to avoid upsetting her religious parents, who are evangelical Christians.

It was Russell who filed and came out in public stating “Katy and I are ending our marriage” adding that the two will “remain friends.”

In the divorce papers, there were no details but it states that the marriage was ending, according to Brand, over irreconcilable differences.

At the time the papers were filed, Brand reportedly went back to England and Katy Perry went to Hawaii.
