
R.I.P. Whitney Houston, Dead at 48; Celebrities Grieve Singer’s Death
Whitney Houston was more than a singer, she was a voice to be reckoned in the music industry; she was a true music queen.
Born Whitney Elizabeth Houston on August 9, 1963, she made her music debut in 1985 with her self-titled album Whitney Houston, which became the best-selling debut album by a female artist at that time. Whitney Houston’s career flourished gaining her the title of being the most awarded female act of all time as well as one of the world’s best-selling music artists to date.
The 48 year-old legend took her last breath on Saturday, February 11, 2012, hours prior to her mentor Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party, which she was expected to attend. The singer, actress, mother and star will be truly missed by not only the entertainment and music world, but also her family and fans.
