As authorities unmask the death of 15-year-old Amanda Todd, who made a silent heartbreaking video with cards after years of bullying in school and online a few weeks before her death, it looks as if the teen could have had a promising singing career.
In a video under Amanda Todd’s YouTube account, she can be heard singing a rendition of Jordan Pruditt’s 2006 song “Outside Looking In.” Jordan Pruditt who auditioned for the third season of “The Voice” and was broadcasted on September 24, 2012 responded to the news of the suicide of Amanda Todd.
“Another teen has committed suicide because of vicious bullying, Amanda Todd. And this came to my attention because the last YouTube video she posted was of my song “Outside Looking In” and I feel honored that my song touched her life even for a short period of time… I just want to say to all the people that are bullied that you are really not alone and if you ever need a friend I am always here to talk. And we should all just band together and stick up for all these people that are being bullied. .. my thoughts and prayers go out to Amanda Todd’s family,” stated Jordan Pruditt.
Amanda Todd, who would frequent webcam chats with friends at the age of 12, unfortunately ran into an unidentified person who asked her to flash and took topless pictures of her. One year later, the person found her on Facebook and tried to blackmail her to do more or said they would contact her friends, family and more.
Todd received a visit from a police officer and attempted to remove herself from any association with those whom she surrounded by changing schools, friends and her Facebook profile only to be found again by the same person.
Todd went on to endure more than cyber-stalking and ended up been bullied at school following an incident with a classmate’s boyfriend that resulted in her allegedly getting beat and taunted and bullied online. Following the incident, Amanda Todd apparently tried to commit suicide by drinking bleach.
Some of the bullying online included showing bleach bottles and ditches that represented the ditch where Todd fell in when she was allegedly beat up at school.
Prior to the last video of Amanda Todd’s singing, she posted the video “My story: Struggling, bullying, suicide, self harm” on Sept. 7. Amanda Todd found dead in her home on Oct. 10 in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.
Currently, authorities are being somewhat mum about the investigation to prevent any mishaps as they investigate leads of the unidentified person who contributed to the suicide of Amanda Todd.
