Celine Sings Again

It ain’t over until the skinny French-Canadian lady sings.

Celine Dion took the Caesars Palace stage after a two-week hiatus to mend her injured neck.

The pop chanteuse kicked off her New Day show Wednesday night with tears in her eyes.

“I know I don’t have to talk to you about the last two weeks because I could talk for hours,” Dion told the audience. “But things happen and sometimes we get injured.”

“I’ve missed being here. “I’ve missed you,” added the singer as she thanked the crowd for “the privilege to perform for you.”

The 36-year-old was ordered to bed earlier this month by her doctor after suffering from a sprained neck, a condition that was aggravated by her nightly performances–200 a year to be exact.

Dion is currently in the second year of a three-year run at the Las Vegas hotel, which landed her a whopping $100 million paycheck. That’s more than the price tag for the specially-constructed 4,000-seat Colosseum, which cost $95 million to build.
