BET 2005 Awards Kicks It Up A Notch

The BET 2005 Awards kicks it up a notch with a little ol’school and new school. The awards open with a reunion performance by The Fugees leading on to the hosts Will & Jada Smith who arrived on-stage in a horse-drawn carriage with spinning custom rims.

Performers included Destiny’s Child, Missy Elliott, Ciara, Toni Braxton, Faith Evans, T.I., Fantasia (birthday girl), the legendary Gladys Knight, The Game along with Mary J. Blige and more.

Best Group: Destiny’s Child

Best Female Hip-Hop: Remy Ma

Female R&B Artist: Alicia Keys

Actress: Regina King

Best Collaboration: Ciara f/ Missy Elliott “1, 2 Step”

Lifetime Achievement: Gladys Knight
