Cyndi Thomson, who scored a No. 1 hit with “What I Really Meant to Say” in 2001, is back on the roster of Capitol Nashville. She quit the music business in 2002, despite her successful single and a gold album, My World. In an open letter to the industry in 2002, she had written that she felt “overwhelmed” and unable to meet the demands of promoting a second album. The native of Tifton, Ga., who will turn 30 in October, will start recording late next month with producer Tommy Lee James.
