Adele Tops Awards With 6 Grammys, First Performance Since Vocal Surgery
British singer Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, better known as simply Adele, won a total of 6 Grammys at last night’s ceremony, which was held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
Adele, who released her debut album 19 in 2008 followed by her 2011 album 21, won “Album of The Year” for “21.” After winning, Adele stated that the record really inspired what just about everyone has gone through… ‘a rubbish relationship.’
In addition, Adele won “Song of The Year” and “Record of The Year” for her debut single “Rolling in the Deep,” Best Pop Vocal Album” for 21, “Best Short Form Music Video “for “Rolling In the Deep”, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Someone Like You”
According to the Recording Academy, Adele is now tied-up with Beyonce by being the second female music artist to win the most awards in a night.
For those who haven’t been keeping up with Adele, this was her first vocal performance since having surgery on her vocal cords. The songstress sung “Rolling in the Deep,” which was co-written and produced by Paul Epworth and herself.
