Sade adds more dates to U.S. tour
Sade, who is currently in the midst of her first U.S. tour in more than seven years, has extended the run into late September.
Tickets for five of Sade’s newly added concert dates are set to go on sale this weekend, according to tour promoter Clear Channel Entertainment. Details appear in the itinerary below.
Released last November, “Lovers Rock” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and has sold just over 3 million copies in the U.S., according to industry sources. The album, which features the singles “By Your Side” and “King of Sorrow,” is the follow-up to Sade’s 1992 release, “Love Deluxe.”
Opening for Sade at all of her U.S. dates is R&B newcomer India.Arie, whose debut album “Acoustic Soul” (Motown) was released in March and was certified gold in May. The album’s track “Brown Skin” has garnered the No. 9 spot on trade publication Radio & Records’ latest Urban AC national airplay chart.
